Indian archers bag 7Gold, 3 Silver, 3 Bronze medals in 2nd Asian Archery Grand Prix in Bangkok

The 2nd Asian Archery Grand Prix was held at Bangkok from 14 to 20 March 2010. A total of 22 countries have participated in the tournament.

Rahul Banerjee and Deepika Kumari won the individual gold medals in the recurve section defeating Nadar Ghadam Maniichehlrimo(Iran)1and Hee-Jung Kim (Korea) respectively in the Final.

Former Junior Junior champion Palton Hansda won the men's compound gold medal overcoming compatriot C.Srither in the tie breaker after the two tied at 115-115. The mixed recurve team won gold beating Chinese Taipei in a tiebreaker after the two tied at 148-148. National Champion Srither picked up the Silver medal and the other silver medal came India's way in the mixed compound team event and the  Bronze medals were won by Ritual Chatterji(Compound men) and Gagandeep Bawa (Compound women).

The top-seeded Indian men's recurve team beat Iran in the final via the tie-breaker after the two teams tied 219-219. The Indian trio scored 27 in three arrows while its Iranian counterpart could manage only 26. 

The Indian recurve women's outfit turned the table on top-seed Korea 214-211 in the final. The women's compound team outshot Vietnam 223-208 for the third gold medal. The men's compound team, seeded No 1, lost to Vietnam in the semi finals at 222-228 but managed to down Korea 222-220 in the bronze medal play-off. 

Top seed Mangal Singh Champia lost in the pre-quarters and Jayanta Talukdar went out in the Quater finals.  Tarundeep Rai lost in the second round, Dola Banerjee and L. Bombayla Devi, too, stumbled in the quarters of women
